High quality - scans and equipment by Stephen Gibson I bought also scan slides - but are as the blades of the size of standard slides in terms of support, is the film itself square films instead of rectangular films as the latest (mine are about 1 , 44 "x 1.44"). For some reason, uses the standard size of the culture of the 8800F, you can 35-mm slides are not changed by the user. I wrote the company and got back a standard reply which basically said: ". We do not modify the software to make you happy" I think they misunderstood me, but whatever ... Fortunately, I found the answer quite by accident. It turns out that in order to work the scanner for my situation (and maybe yours), I just had to uncheck the box next to "Enable / disable the thumbnail view mode" and allowed me to manually create the rather large harvests. This also means that I can use the support strips instead of 35 mm slides 35 mm slides and leave the old magazine featured a slide of metal, saving even more time to myself after discovering that I'm happy to say that this scanner is beyond my expectations and I am very happy now that I can not use my Konica Dimage Scan Dual IV with my Vista PC. The hardware is very strong and the speed is great. 1200 dpi scans in under a minute each. For more information on how to manually scan slides older, leave me your e-mail as a comment to this review. Hope this helps. Steve 482 of 485 people found this review helpful. EXTRA! T. Meerloo BOX: The complete machine is much smaller and lighter than the previous scanner, with the dimensions of the same field of exploration. It comes with a USB connection and a separate power "brick" between the output and a scanner. Three scanning guides are included, a combo of two side-by-side 35 mm film strips (to 5 pictures each) with caps that fit curved strips, a guide for 4 standard-size slides and a 120 mm filmstrip holder These guides in a specific location on the scanning surface, so they line up under the lid-mounted light source which is covered by a removable plate. The cover is very easy, but it takes almost equally open to them to stay open without support. The thin beam of 35mm filmstrip guide is very thin, and I already broke one when trying to load the curved strip of negatives. Software with scanner drivers, etc., an advanced image editing program, and versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements (5.0 for Windows, 4.0 for Mac) are included. SOFTWARE: I have not tried all of the included software yet because I want to work in other programs for archiving and retouching of images. That being said, using one of the programs on the scanner (MP Navigator) I think there are some unnecessary steps and windows between the scan and save the work from a Mac, it was easy to install and scan with the scanner interface are extremely intuitive. Everything is going relatively smoothly, but there are occasional program crashes and I can not queue up a lot of pictures before the program of the buffer is full (even with an excess of RAM). Automatic identification of pictures in picture frames or negative strips are very accurate, but can be turned off, as another reviewer noted, and you can create your own area of interest or an entire film strip selected. SETUP: There are many choices before you scan, such as Unsharp Mask and remove dirt and scratches, which provide different levels to choose from, such as "Grain Correction" and "Backlight Compensation". While we generally see a positive effect of the Unsharp Mask (again, I work with high dpi), I realize that to turn to dirt and scratches on just makes a mess in the affected areas, some of the specifications, or completely intact patches I tend to reverse the options to remove dirt and scratches and grain correction altogether. I run the program scan the scanner.
