More Excellent by a client after reading other reviews on scanners and seeing all the problems we had with the cheap, I decided to spend a little more for something better. It was a good decision: the CanoScan D1250U2F surpassed my expectations.Software and hardware installation is straight forward, and the documentation is clear and simple. A major factor in my decision to buy the Canon was the inclusion of Adobe Photoshop Elements - software is very intuitive, powerful, and he reacts well with the delivery scanner.Color is excellent, and scanned images show well-balanced and clean. On my computer (Windows XP, 1.8 GHz, 384 MB RAM) scan of moderate resolution is reasonably fast and downloads are fast, even though I run the USB 1.1 driver and not 2.0. Scanning a 3x5 photo at 600 dpi takes about 15-20 seconds, maybe 10-15 seconds at 300 dpi. A lot of the time the scanner "light adaptation" is scanThe before the actual film and slide scanner is easy to use and produces good results. Images can be mixed and the colors a bit muted, but in this price range I do not expect professional slide scanning. In 2400 it is fairly close to the resolution of the film and is certainly good enough for most e-mail the photo and web publishing applications. The scanner also comes with optical character recognition (OCR), which works even though I do not find intuitive. In addition, the OCR software makes some strange decisions, particularly with regard to the spelling and seems anxious to take control of the scanner, the introduction at unexpected times. Apart from the OCR software miracle if I wanted to be picky, I would say that the hinges are a little fragile, and the buttons on the front of the scanner is useless. In my view it would be a better product if they removed the knobs from the front and put a switch on the back, but it's all just nit ... The scanner does a great job in general. 95 of 99 people found the following review helpful. EXCELLENT. By Chas Devlin So far it works wonderfully. I will Millon read reviews of other Scanners - Agfa, Umax, HP, Microtek, etc, but after a while offsetting it all out. I could not afford the next level "professional" models, and not really require all the things that accompany them. So, Canon was my last choice. In Windows ME, set it at less than 10 minutes. Hardware was light, and found that there is no driver problem. I had to scan immediately. Up to this point, I became friends with a scanner on Windows 98, a heavy model, 4 or 5 years old (clunky parallel / serial port, etc.) and it was incredibly slow and loud. This was such a difference. I've only tested a color photo (5 x 7) by 200% (dpi) and it has it in just 30 seconds. I also tried a large color image of a book was surprisingly good and I'm sure the real test will be the pictures in much higher resolution (but who really needs this big?). Also I'm still trying to grayscale magazines / newspapers. By "not believe" option worked exceptionally well. It completely eliminates the standard album cover moiree. Very surprised he did well.I m "is also used with an Adaptec USB 2.0. It is undoubtedly fast. I have not really done things high resolution, but I'm sure it will be better than what I I'm used to. The software is good, although I did not use the file / image registration. It seems aimed at beginners and can be helpful. If you have Photoshop 5 or 6, you may not need that comes with Photoshop Elements it.While of course there are more readers out there with more gadgets and large areas of analysis (at a higher price, of course), I have no complaints. It works perfect for my home / office use and is designed to get family photos, vinyl album covers and a variety of other materials is provided with a slide tray, too.
